    Default Lac Des Allemands

I went to bed last night without planning to go fishing today because I was cold and tired after a frustrating Monday. I woke up this morning to my father calling me at 6:45 asking if I was on the water yet.
I had to be back early for class this evening but said what the heck and threw the kayak in the back of the truck. As I mentioned in my last post I tried to fish out of South Vacherie launching at Freds, so I headed that direction with the kayak because you don't need an actual launch only the side of the road and water. If you pull up google maps and look at Lac Des Allemands and look in the North west corner around South Vacherie there is a small group of camps located on the lake and more importantly some new canals were dredged but do not have any camps built yet. This allows for bank fishing (limited) and for people to launch small boats and kayaks.
This canals have a very steep bank and average from 4-8 ft in depth with pockets hitting the 10ft mark. Water was stained but not quite muddy, I have no clue of the water temps but the wind was light and the sun was trying to shine but it was cloudy for the most part. Several boats fishing for and catching bass, they all said were about 1-3 lbs but everyone I talked to has at least two in the box. I was fishing my road runner 90% of the time and caught all but one sac on a road runner. chartreuse head with a black and green body. Biggest fish was 13" and all fish were healthy. Did not clean them yet but imagine they have eggs.

The camps are more on the West side than North West.
    Just wanted to clarify.
