    Default Bayou Pigeon 7-30-17


    I couldn't resist going back. Headed out to the same spots...bite was slower but still caught 28. Also caught a beautiful spoonbill catfish which i threw back but boy was he purty... All caught the same way. Using the bobby garland lights out shad jig...throw out with slow reel in. Once the Sun came out the bite stopped. On Saturday because of the low pressure system and clouds the bite was on ALL day.

    Nice spoonbill, I've never saw one in person. Good mess of slabs.

    Haven't ever seen one in person either. I do believe I'd throw it back as well, just because I like the way they look. Nice box of crappies.

    That thing looks prehistoric. My buddy caught one a week or two ago on Ouachita river. It took him 30 minutes to get him in. He was spider rigging and luckily the fish's first run was away from the boat or he would have had a serious mess on his hands. Cool fish and nice box of crappies!!
