Had a motor guide, made noise in the brackets when you start and stop. Never could get it to stop.

Replaced it with minnkota and it's whisper quiet. Trolling Motor Opinions

I've been a Motor Guide user for as long as I've been fishing but after talking with Minnkota users and doing some research, I've decided to go with the new Minnkota Ultrex with ipilot for the new War Eagle stick steering boat I have on order from Ludwig Marine in Farmerville. It's pricey, but if the "Spot Lock" GPS feature works as advertised by holding you within a 3 foot radius regardless of current or wind, it will be worth it to me....I figure if you'll soon be 78 years old, you can get away with doing some stupid things !
