Nice! Sounds like a great anniversary to me! Thanks for sharing.
My wife decided she wanted to spend our 8th wedding anniversary at the camp fishing, so off we went with no complaints from me. Got there late Friday night after stopping at my sister’s house along the way for a crawfish boil.Got a pretty heavy rain with lots of lightning on Friday night, so I wasn’t expecting much. Got out on the water about 10:30 Saturday morning and the bite was steady. Ended the day with 35 keepers, all on jigs. Sunday was just as good, but my trolling motor foot pedal ended our day early. Ended with 22 keepers and a broken trolling motor. Headed back to the camp and got it fixed up for the Monday trip. Monday started slow, but it really picked up around lunch time. Caught 39 keepers between 12-4, before being run back to the camp because of lightning in the area. After the storm passed I loaded the boat back on the trailer to be ahead of schedule to get back on Tuesday. After cleaning the camp and packing up, my wife decided she wanted to go fish for about an hour before we left, so we put the boat back in headed out. Fished one hour and picked up 9 more keepers. Weekend total of 105 keepers. Big fish was 16.5 inches at 2.21 lbs. and had several other fish in the 14-15 inch range. All fish caught on jigs in 2-6 foot of water. Needless to say it was a great trip and the freezer is now full. Any trips after this will be catch and release for a while. The picture with 57 is Saturday and Sunday's catch combined. The picture with 39 is from Monday and the picture with 9 is from the quick trip on the way home Tuesday.
