    Default finding some freckle fish with my lil' podnah........


    took my little boy out to find something you get into, went ride around the Union oil canals Saturday not too many boats out. packed up around 8:30 with 50 little swimmers to see what kind of trouble we could get in. first fish he caught all on his own which was a little small but he asked if he could keep it so i threw it in the livewell. the biggest one he caught on the end of a lay down he wasn't really paying attention to his cork and the big boy tipped the cork up and started taking it down so i caught his attention and he pulled a little bit so i helped him out to stab a good hook set and it was like hooking into a log, it was solid fish, so "DAD!" he says, "well lets get him in dude we can play around with a big boy on the line" i told him, "OK" he says, he reels him in with his little reel screaming drag out the whole time. got it in the net about a pound and a half all on his own, so proud of this little guy, we stayed about 3 hours till he was ready to go home.

    Nice catch Dad. Enjoy them kids while there young. They do grow up fast. Love the life vest. I think I saw PPG with one of those on.

    Thanks guys for the great comments, I'm proud of this little guy more and more every day. He still has about 2 maybe 3 hours max till he kind of drops intrest and just wants to cast a cork back and forth. He'll get there and then its harvest time.......
