    Default TB 1/16/15

Drove up to check on my camp and fish a little. Zero on Thursday. 3 hrs chicken coop. 7 Friday, 4 crappie/3 catfish. 5 hrs chicken coop. One crappie to small, went back swimming. Biggest 1lb 5 oz, 13.5 inches. All on shiners 38 ft deep. Had 5 boats and cold thur. Had about 25 boats and still cold fri. Talked to several, some had more, some less. All agreed this string of good weather will help. Could not believe how murky the water is on the La. side. Looks like mud in places. May go back Monday for a few more days, while the weather is good. By the way, shadow I caught them all. Highlight of the trip was visiting with and eating supper with Skip and Martha. Fine people right there!! Sorry I missed you Alex. Also, broke a $160 rod and ripped the side on my big tackle box. Fortunately I am blessed to have replacements at home.

Just curious, what brand of crappie rod costs $160.00? Maybe the crappie are waiting for the Gathering!!!!!!! It might be all of the fresh water. Better luck next week.

It was a bass fishing rod I was taking out the boat. Yes , I skunked my partner. Does not happen often. He usually catches the most.

Nice catch Danny, that would work for me just fine. I figured it was one of your bass rods that broke. Thanks for posting.
