    Post Taylorsville Lake Crappie 2019

Taylorsville Lake Crappie fishing has been fair to good for us this year depending on the weather and up and down water levels due to so much rain. Last outing was Monday 5/6/19 and we had 14 keepers (10.5"-12") of about 35 fish caught. Had to move around a bit. Caught most of them 10' deep close to 16-20' deep water. Used slip bobs with jigs and minnows. My fishing buddy caught a nice 16" Walleye which was a real surprise. Didn't know walleye were in Taylorsville. First ever caught from many years of fishing at Taylorsville. We also caught 14 bass of which all were undersize between 10-14".

Plan to go again Friday if the weather cooperates.

Actually, those aren't Walleye .... they're Saugeye (Walleye/Sauger Hybrid) and they've been stocked in Taylorsville for a few years now. I've caught two small ones and my fishing buddy caught one around 20" on our last trip there. Not sure of exact length because it was longer than my Gator Grip Golden Rule measuring board by a couple inches. Here it is, pictured in a 34qt Gott Cooler.

Several other members have reported catching them in that size range, as well.

Thanks for the report !! Good usable info without going into specific location detail ... appreciate that !! (and it keeps the meat hog trolls from swarming that location)

Nice report. Slip float fishing is still one of my favorite ways to catch crappie! And those saugeye sure do eat good!
