Carr Creek has some nice fish but low numbers. Fishtrap is a pretty solid crappie lake for these parts and has some nice fish.
Anyone tried either of these two lakes for crappie? My wife and I are kinda on a mission to explore the local lakes to find the best lakes for keeper sized crappie in the state. As always any info is greatly appreciated and God Bless.

With your "home lake" being Cave Run, and Cave Run having no size limit ... "keeper" size fish shouldn't be a problem.
But, seriously .... It probably depends on what "keeper size" means to each individual. And with that said, Green is a numbers lake, for the most part, with the occasional Slab or two thrown in. Taylorsville is in transition mode, after the size limit raise, but it does offer some decent fish on average. Cumberland is a Slab lake, and has been since the year after they got the dam fixed & brought the water back up to the original pool level.
Those are the only ones I know enough about to comment on (and even that ain't all that much).
Cedar Creek & Herrington have Slab Crappie ... but, the traffic on those lakes makes it difficult to fish them at times.
Yeah ive been fishing both Taylorsville and Green but I consider 10" or above keepers, that being said Cave run offers plenty of fish but like a lot of other places the big ones are scarce. Just mainly like going to new places.
