I know their are sharks in rivers but I didn't think they would be that far from the ocean.

No doubt that a Bull Shark can travel upstream in freshwater rivers. But, in order for one to have been in KY Lake ... it would have had to walk, or have been purposely placed there, since the Ky Lake Dam is between the lake & Ohio River (which empties into the Mississippi River).
Lock through the boat canal...Bull Sharks are also known to inhabit shipping areas...It's a one in a million one even makes the turn up the Tennessee...but if it makes it that far and its intent on just constantly moving it's feasible it follows the current and locks through with a boat.
Hey I am not trying to make a case for it..far from it. But I am pretty sure for every saltwater species discovered here there has to be more never found. If they traversed nearly two thousands miles its possible they could make the boat lock. It's all they can do to keep the Asian carp out of the Great Lakes and they for sure traversed some locks.
I believe the Shark at Olmstead is for real...have not heard anything else to the contrary. The conservation dept here caught the blue crab and documented the Mullet. So I don't think they are hoax.
I did have a guy at the coffee shop argue with the this morning that it was real. smh..
Ky lake would be a huge smorgasbord for a Bull Shark. They would grow to humongous sizes because of the ability to chase and feast on an endless supply of Asian Carp. I wonder if they could put a dent in the carp population?
If they ever find their way into Ky lake, they would likely breed very well and become a sustainable population. This happens in fresh water around the globe.
