Regarding the memories, I hear ya on that. Nice catch...good times!!
Fished with my wife and kids again today after work since the weather was so gorgeous. Started pretty good on one of my proven spawning areas with 6 keepers on our first 6 casts, with my wife catching the big fish of the night right off the bat.
Sissy wanted to spider rig so we spent about an hour rigging a couple of our favorite spots. She did great, catching about 5 or 6 fish. I had a double on the same rod at one point and she thought that was awesome. (So did I!)
I finished the night casting to a couple other shallow spots and was still catching keepers when we had to leave. The bite is really good right now but this cold snap will surely put a damper on the progress. Water temp was 57-58 when we left and pretty muddy on the lower end. Up river has fantastic color.
I cleaned 13 tonight and had several others around 9 1/2" that we threw back. It was a great night on the water and I think the kids had fun. I can vividly remember the times my Grandpa and Dad took us fishing and I can only hope these memories mean as much to my kids when they get older as my memories do to me.
The secret to fishing? Fish where the fish are.

Remember to take your kids fishn'
I forgot to mention in my post how proud I was of my wife last night. She casted jigs on her own and caught the biggest fish of the night as well as kept us supplied with minnows and took fish off the hook for my daughter as we spider rigged. It goes a lot easier when you have great help!!
On a side note, we saw our first skier last night. He was an older gentleman having a blast in 59 deg water. He went by us and hollered out, "Hello Spring Time!!"
Whatever floats your boat, dude!!
It was a madhouse last weekend, thought the bassmaster classic was going on
