    Default Advice for KY lake

I always fish reelfoot Lake and watersheds around the foot for crappie. Me and my brother are going Sat to KY lake to try somewhere new for a change. Was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on we're to fish around and what they bite there. I know things bout reelfoot but I know nothing about ky lake and neither does he. Thanks in advance.

Big lake. You might get more responses if you advised about where you are headed. Dam, big bear, johnathon, Ken-lake, etc.

Think my dad might go. He's not been in 30 yrs and would make his day to catch some.

Then you will be in Tenn. You might want to ask over there on the Tenn state forum, too. You might even consider contacting Cane Pole (via post or by PM), as he has a lakeside residence in the Big Sandy River area. He would likely know what's going on in that area.

You had it licked when ya made plans ta come. Don't get scared off by how big it is, do what you'd do at home. Use your electronics An look for baitfish an structure. From what I hear, if your fishing from Jonathan south you can idle slow, use your net an have a limit an still be back to the ramp by noon. Have fun.

just fished a CrappieUSA tournament there last week. 14 fish-26lbs to win. we culled thru 70 plus lbs of crappie over a pound to finish 4th.
back of creeks are full of male crappie, big females should be moving in this week if water warms up a few degress. Don't let the shallow water scare you!!! most of our fish came out of 2 foot of water around stake beds using minnows under a bobber.
