Please forgive me, one says to add a little water before each use, but do all of you other guys do that,I do know a transducer must have water and no bubbles or air between it and the water,to work but im assumeing that the marine goop acts as a water source for the transducer and will work with out water, that is if you make sure there are no bubbles under it when mounted, but if you have to add water how do you keep the water around the transducer and not all over the bottom of your kayak. You must have made some type of border around it for contaiment. Thanks .................

I got a small liquid-tight clear plastic box that I cut the bottom out of, then contoured it to the bottom of my sit inside kayak. Glued the box to the bottom of the boat under the seat with marine goop, then routed the transducer wires under the seat to the transducer box and the removable battery box (behind the seat). I add water to the box as needed and the transducer and wires are protected. I can switch the transducer & depthfinder to another boat in a few minutes if necessary. I have my eye on a sit on top peddle power kayak that my be in my future.

    Help me
First you cut a square shape from the foam knelling pad larger than the transducer and then cut a shape inside the square to firmly fit your transducer. Glue the foam to the bottom (inside) of your kayak. Once it dries you can place a small amount of water in the cut out and place you transducer inside. This wahy you can use the same transeducer on multiple kayaks. Ihave 3 I use.

Ummm I agree with you like my post stated. Use lots of it to avoid air bubbles between the transducer and hull so the signal isnt disrupted.

    Hi
Agree, it seals the transducer to the kayak and works very well. No water to deal with and no damage to the transducer and can be removed with a hard push to the side.
