    Default first kayak ever ordered

I ordered a fishing kayak by Cabelas. It is the advanced angler 120. Never even been in a kayak but wanted one to fish in and spend time with my wife alongside her on her paddle board. Really liked the looks on how it is setup. Based on what a few experienced kayakers have written on the net I hope I haven't made a mistake. It 12'2", 35" wide, 100 lbs. Some called it a floating turd due to its weight. Should be delivered in the next few weeks. Any thoughts on if I should have gone in a different direction?

Have fun in your new kayak hoping to buy one myself early next year. As for the kayak it's up to you to decide what works for you may not work for others and so forth.

If you have paddled no others you wont know if it is a barge. Looks like an Old Towne Predator to me. I say dont worry what others say and enjoy it. Gotta remember there are a lot of die hard brand purists out there that have blinders on. I bet it is a great kayak.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the plastic fleet of fishermen. You decision on kayak to fish from is not a bad choice. Give it the opportunity to make you
happy or sad. My bet is you won't know the difference until you try something different. Who knows? At least you can paddle along with your wife and enjoy yourself too.

Congratulations! At 100 lbs it will be slow compared to others but it should be stable and not flip easy with that weight and width. Sounds like a good flat water fishing platform.

Got my kayak in. Played around a little bit this past weekend and loved it. So relaxing and peaceful. No motors, just me and nature. Very excited about rigging it to my liking. Didn't catch a thing....and loved it.

Mine must be considered a floating turd as well. I have a 100 lb. Shadow Caster. My favorite purchase I have ever made. I have had mine since Memorial Day weekend 2016. It has brought back the child fisherman in me. Outfitting with all the "stuff" one piece at a time has also been fun. Enjoy my friend.
