I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

3/8ths ply, butt joints using Titebond III , exterior covered with 10 oz cloth and polyester resin.......... a "lo budget build"...less than $150.00 in the wood , glass /resin and the marine paint he bought really increased the cost.......
IMO would make a nice boat for the Suffolk lakes, he is going to use a Sears 4.5 HP on it, the boat is not built / designed to plane.Turned out much "bigger and "roomier" than expected.........

My Ex's dad used to build custom wooden boats. Everything from 16 ft cedar Strip Sailing canoes to 35 ft cabin sailers. His garage was a woodworkers heaven. Last thing I saw him build was a Chesapeake Skiff for his son. He passed away a little after he finished it from Metastatic Melanoma.

I was hoping to get one of his 2 sailing canoes.... was mine... til the divorce. Beautiful boat. Light as a feather and fast. the Dagger board weighed almost as much as the canoe it's self.

This one looks like a great Suffolk boat.
