    Default Eldorado lake report

    Fished Eldorado Saturday Oct 8.
Water temp was 63 at 0800.
Water temp was up to 68 at 2pm.
Water clarity was somewhat murkier than usual for this year.
Bluebird day and the bite was really slow. Water level is 6.31' lower and stumps are everywhere and dangerous even if you know the lake.
Ramp #1 on blue stem point and marina ramp are usable but docks are both very shallow. Sailboat cove is usable and north side of dock is usable. Keep motors trimmed up when using ramps or docks. Be safe and tight lines.

This has to be getting toward a record low for the lake. I guess if it ever rains again it will be 8 inches in about 2 hours.

We have been drift fishing Toronto for cats....plenty of shad. The crappie bite is slow here as well, should turn on shortly. Both Fall River and Toronto are 2 ft. low. Gotta be careful and know where your going to get to the lake (Toronto point).

El Dorado is setting all time low records every day now as the lake continues to drop. The previous record was 5.96 ft low set back in March 2007. Current level (10/11/2023) is 6.39 feet below conservation pool.

On the upside, vegetation has grown along the exposed shorelines which will provide some excellent nursery habitat when the lake refills.

    Be careful out there!

Here is a pic from the causeway at Melvern. Most of the water west of the the causeway is gone. Been a long time since I have seen that.

Eldorado is 6.66 ft low as of 22 Oct.
Put in at the Marina and there is still plenty of ramp left to safely launch but you have to pull back up on the ramp or use the marina dock.
Had a beautiful day to fish with a friend but the catching was slow.
What keepers we caught were on road runners with 3" baits.

Fished eldo yesterday, lake has turned over and there were tons of shad 30 to 45' deep on main lake. Water temp was about 50 and water was muddy north of RR bridge and fairly clear on main lake. Bite was really slow with more wipers than crappie. Heavy fog early clearing off to a beautiful day with light wind. Water level was 6.33 low still. Went to Melvern this last Saturday, lake is a little above normal levels, water was pretty cloudy. Surface temps were 54 degrees, the crappie bite is really slow, apparently the catfish were biting, ans there were some large caucuses ant the edge of the boat ramp at the marina.
