    Default ElDorado 8-2-2017

We fished all over the main lake; brush piles, riprap, some deep and shallow timber from 5:30a to 2p. The weather killed us as did the weather forecasters. Barometer and wind were all over the place . We caught 30 or so dinks but no keepers ; our best pattern was fishing 8 foot deep in 13 feet of water over brush. We even tried 2 feet deep, shortdraw. Color didn’t matter. Caught a really skinny white bass, some white perch and a black bass. A guy who put in right before us happened to pull out right after us; he said he caught 2 keepers and some dinks.

8-5-2017 Jigged the Cheney fishing dock this morning, 10 dinks before noon and I gave up. Got plenty of fish in the freezer, going to Hutch Sunday for a fish fry at my parents.

The bigger crappie are not in brush this time of year. Try trees in the old El Dorado lake in 12-18fow. That's where we have them... Solid fish but you have to cover water so don't expect to catch more than 2 per tree. Hope this helps...

Bite is still good at Eldorado... haven't had a problem keeping 20 over 10 inches in the last 3 months. Last weekend caught my fish in 30 foot of water.

What is the water temp at El Dorado now? Have the fish moved up any shallower yet?
