Or a early riser. So hot even in shade of umbrellas sweat just ruins hats. Bite is good in trees on main lake. Whites excellent on humps with spoons. Can't explain why, but catching good size cats both places. Drink plenty of fluids, before during and after. Wear plenty of sunscreen! I like spray products, but caused ear infection this season. Will apply by hand from now on. Reports to me rates , Clinton and Pomona best for crappies. Perry hands down for whites. As always, be safe!! <*)}}}><

Chat: Always enjoy reading your comments. Jerry & I have not fished much this summer, but were looking forward to some cooler weather. When we do go to Truman we have been catching some nice ones in the shallow trees. Two to seven feet on jigs. Good to see your report, keep em coming.

Summer pattern broke broke a couple weeks ago for the most part, they are starting to transition to fall pattern. Fish can b caught in both patterns right now, and in a couple weeks look for them in your favorite fall pattern. Ambient air temp matters little to fish, they always follow thier food source, except during the spawn, which is why I hate fishin the spawn!

I think you could be right, the cottonwood trees around my house finally stopped dropping cotton last week.
All lakes raise a foot when I step in the boat

It has a lot to do with 'photoperiods' (number of hours of daylight) more than anything. I too am fustrated during spawn. Kinda like my head,,,, "Hair" today,,, gone tomorrow! <*)}}}><

Hot I guess! I saw your boat fishing one of the humps. I caught a couple of short crappie in the trees. Switched to cranks and caught and released 3 nice wipers. At least it was some good action. Gave up on Hillsdale. Bet I hadn't been to Clinton in 5 years. I like my umbrella too on days like that. I can't wait for the bypass to be completed. It took a while to get past 10 and 59 hwy. junction.
