    Default Hillsdale report


    Fished on tuesday, kept 11. Caught with a black and chartruse bobby garland, or red and chartruse. Didnt seem to matter. Fished with a cork set about 16 inches deep. Probably caught at least 50. Out some from the spawning banks. Went back yesterday morning fished till about 10:30 same thing. Not much to brag about but, putting a few in the freezer. Good fishing to ya.

    I fished Hillsdale Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Fished from 6am to about noon each day. Caught 200 fish give or take a few over the three days. The tough part is only 24 keepers out of the bunch. I guess for Hillsdale only 1 out of every 8 fish being 10" or better has been typical for me.

    Monday was the toughest. Caught about 20 Monday with very few shallow fish and 6 keepers The keepers came from about 10' of water and were right on the bottom.

    Tuesday was the best day with 100+ fish but only 15 keepers. All were caught shallow with jig under a float.

    Wednesday was good from about 6am to 7:30am then things really slowed for me. Same pattern for Wednesday...fishing shallow with a jig under a float and caught 70+ but only 3 keepers.

    Took today off from fishing but going back tomorrow morning with my boy...see if we can't find a higher concentration of bigger fish somewhere.

    I am going to Hillsdale tomorrow morning. We hope obviously to have some keepers but overall I just want the kiddos to catch some fish. I am new to Hillsdale lake and have very little knowledge of decent bank spots. I don't expect anyone to give up their holes but could anyone make a suggestion or two for taking a 4, 6 and 10 year old for some decent bank crappie fishing? Thanks in advance.

    The Dam or the swim beech rock jetty will produce a few fish without to much hassle.
    It's not duck season so I have to do something... :D

    I Fished Hillsdale Thursday from 11:00am till 5:00pm Same Story,,caught at least 120 Males in 2 to 6 ft of water,nothing over 12",,only Cleaned 15Name: 100_2640.jpg Views: 781 Size: 58.7 KB
