Depends how far north or south you are in Kansas imho, I live 3 miles north of Kansas (far NE corner of Kansas) into Nebraska and it's not on in the small lakes in NE Kansas. Might be mid april but but we had a brutally cold winter that ran way late, finally now getting warm but still getting too many cold fronts to really warm the water up. A lot of warm days the last 3 weeks but also a fair share of cold days with mid 40's high 40's and too many nights with high twenties for lows. The water is finally warming but too many setbacks stopping it from warming like it could. I think amount of daylight plays a big role to cue spawning as well but the water up here needs to warm a little and stay there. Would be interesting to hear from others.
