Awe, excellent question. I've watched some guys at Marion Co. use that micro stuff and do well. Spoons, jigs, some tipped with waxworms, some not, but they scored, heavily too I might add.
Relatively new to the whole crappie during the winter thing with OPEN WATER, most crappier I catch from November on have been through the ice from living in BFE Ohio, anyways, any tips about fishing docks for crappie I know Marion Co has a nice heated dock and one of the lakes here in Wichita has crappie and a small enclosed dock was wondering what you guys would suggest.
Any and all tips/advice are really appreciated.

All lakes raise a foot when I step in the boat
Jeff u'r correct with the heavily, was awhile back, but a very young girl fishing with her brother and gramps, caught a white crappie that weighed over 4 lbs, actually held the state record for a short time, I think. She was a using minnow. DK
melvern, hillsdale and pamona have fishing docks. Seems like you must go small when fishing them, ice jigs, small hair jigs. I have fished Melvern dock a lot in the eighties and early ninties and just caught a bunch of fish, since high water in 93 it has been spottie. Have not fished much there since then.
BD40 I too use to fish melvern's docks in the 80's and 90's along with the Chief and many other old timers, when it was 24 hr fishing and man those were some of the best winter crappie days ever, and u are correct abt it never recovering since the high water in 93. Fishing there now is like going to Cabela's tanks and observing them swimming around, chrystal clear and can see the different types of suspended fish along with the actual brush. Totally mind blowing the number and size of the crappie u see that will not touch a bait, really have to see this to believe it!!!!!

went to marion county lake on the 1st. Great heated dock. But no fish or even a bite for anybody (only saw 2 others). Nice dock might have to try again. A local said it has been pretty slow.

ragnar, it has been pretty slow for a month now... and with them turning the ice eaters on it won't get better any time too soon.
Thanks qkid. I get a day off next week for my bday. Looking for a doc to fish if itgets to windy/icey for boat. Any recomendations?

Ever been to Pomona or Melvern? They both have pay-to-play docks.... you can't do any worse than skunked!
Yeah I stopped by there yesterday and talked to Buck. The water is clear down to about 8 feet. you can see the crappie in the tops of the trees just sitting there not moving at all, will not hit anything just not feeding. Maybe feeding at night who knows, lots of fish no biters.
