Thread: El Dorado Question

If ya had to fish from shore... and I've never do so take this with a grain of salt. I would try the brush in the rock quarry, or any of the boat docks on the lake. Most all docks have brush under them. There is also brush under some of the bridges next to the pilers. I also see alot of people fishing near the marina for crappie

I would try the cement slab and fish off the rocks around the marina dipping with my jigs.

Hi BK, I know how fishing from the shore goes. I believe El Dorado is one of the best lakes around as far as shore line fishing goes. There are a lot of rock Rip Rap areas that I always try to hit when fishing from the shore. There are some nice rock Jetties around the Marina that I would try and hit. Satchel creek below the bridge area around that area has some timber close to the bank if you are fishing for crappie and have a 10-12 ft rod is always fun. The rock riprap up by the interstate by the river boatramp I've had good luck. It's a bit of a walk, but fishing the railroad causeway up north has been good for various species as well. I've never fished the Rock Quarry from the bank, but from the looks of it, crappie bite looks like it would be good up that way for sure. CaptainT16 has a lot of good suggestions. I see a lot of people wading for white bass off the points in the old Bluestem lake, points west of Shady Creek Marina, and points on the west side of the lake like Sailboat point. Good luck!

If ya watch the forum there are also guys that have a open seat sometimes that would be more than happy to have ya along. I've learned a few things from some of them
