    Default Trout in Kansas?

Any of you boys do some trout fishing? My better half gave me a neat little trout fishing setup for my birthday back in february and I have yet to use it. Any tips or places you all recommend will be greatly appreciated as the only trout I've ever caught were in Alaska or Steelhead on/around Lake Erie.

What part of the state are you from? Kanopolis lake has a seep stream below the dam which offers a kinda stream fishing other than that its all lakes/ponds. Kdwpt site has a link to all the places they stock with trout and how many and often. In my area there is Lakewood lake in Salina and then two places on Ft. Riley Moon lake and Cameron springs. Topeka pays to have lake Shawnee stocked I believe and it seems there're is a a new state record coming out of there every winter

The little pond north of the marina cove in Glen Elder is stock with nice size trout. You must have a trout stamp and can only fish certain times of the year. Check the Wildelife and Parks information booklet for all details. There has been some nice size trout caught out of the pond.

Around Wichita there is the KDOT east lake, Vic's Lake and the stream @ Sedgwick Co Park. The stream is where most people fly fish, the other two places most people cast or use powerbait. If you know someone that works at Spirit or Boeing in Wichita they can get in the SBEA lake if they have a membership. They dump a ton of trout in there in the winter.
