Default Ultra light trout jig ideas

I will be taking a friend of mines daughter to a trout park in Missouri for a kids fish day. I would like to make some jigs to take with me to use with an ultra light but I'm not sure what exactly to tie. I have tied trout flies and crappie jigs but I tried tying some pony heads one time for trout and could not get them to bite them. They would follow them but never bite. I was hoping to get some ideas from you all that have tied ultra light stuff for trout before so maybe I can make something that will work. Any picture would help also as I can usually replicate pretty good if I can see it.

Pheasant tail patterns on a jig hook with a small tungsten slotted bead should work well.

Pattern called a John Benjamin. Black head, black bear wing, gray squirrel, pearl Krystal flash on sides. Use black bucktail in place of bear. Check youtube for video

Thanks guys! I will definitely work on some of those. I've tried wolly buggers and bead head pheasant tails for use on a fly rod but didn't really think of it for ultra light. I will check out the John Benjamin too that sound interesting. Thank you all for the idea

Simi seal leech jigs with marabou tails in various color combos.

Fast easy ties with minimum components.

I fish at a couple of the Missouri trout parks every year and for the last few years a simple tie using Sculpin olive grizzly marabou or Canadian Pine Squirrel zonkers with a few wraps of olive palmer chenille around the collar have been working very well for me. Bright green head has been #1 color on a 1/32 head with a #6-8 jig hook. These are pine squirrel ties. I like working them fast so trout react and chase. Some will strike and miss the bait several times before they catch it so I keep it moving in an erratic manner. Name: IMG_3300.jpg

A Clouser minnow or Crappie Candy might work well.

Could be tied on a streamer hook or jig head.

Thanks guys! I got some work to do by next weekend! Junglejim thank you for the picture I'll definitely be trying to replicate some of those, just don't know that I have any zonker strips but that gives me a good idea on colors.

A black, brown or olive grizzly marabou feather would be fine, do really well with the darker colors at the trout parks with the darker colors. 2# test is what I use.
