Thought that 300 hrs would amount to some over-curing, or a type. I also have sausage fingers. That's why my keyboard has larger and wider-spaced keys. It's called a "keys u see" board.
Wow, your doing so much with them. I dip in powder paint, clear eyes and into oven and finished! Now if I want to add glitter I will dip in color, then clear with glitter and then oven. Only time I will use a clear coat finish in using Vinyl as it's not glossy with out the top clear coat. Eye I mostly only put on Roadrunners and that is just a dot of Black Vinyl after the powder paint is cured. Once eye is dry I tie it and done.
Seems your going through some things you don't really have to do?

Never painted with vinyl. One thing I've found with the powder paint is that it is very easy to mix colors. I have a scale and can mix the colors with percise ratios and come up with colors that no one else has. You would be shocked at what the slightest variation of a color can make.

I don't mind being tedious adding the eyes, whether it's paint or gel eyes but it's funny I refuse to put eyes on the salmon/steelhead/looper jigs I tie!
Loopers were the only reason I started tying, junk tackle for those fish so being able to put in a quality hook into lead was great. Then I found a china connection that will do 500 jigs at a time with tungsten instead of lead. Which has been a huge success for chasing schools of salmon and loopers.

Man I don't even know what a looper is, lol! Have never been up North like that where I could fish, heck only time in NY was their airport headed to South Africa years ago. I would love to do some of that NW fishing at some point, but my body is about to the point I am not sure I will ever make it. You have an entirely different fisheries set up for you there and down here we don't even have Small Mouth Bass!

It's a strain of steelhead, we have "native" steelhead if you can call them that. Loopers are stocked by the department of natural resources. Real fun fish, 12 foot rods, 4 pound test and casting into Lake Superior. It's a blast!

My son (Montanaboy) used to catch those fish, plus big browns and salmon, when he lived in Chicago. He didn't have a boat back then, so he went out on charters, trolling in the early mornings.

And that idea of mixing colors is something I never thought of. Thanks for a really nice tip.
