My neighbor called me the other day and said I have something for you! I went to his shop and wow! 3 boxes of anamal hair! Buffalo, Elk, fox, rabbit, sheep. The elk and buffalo are partial capes! In credible! Now what to do with? I want to try and dye some! The under fur dubs so well! Now I got to learn how to cut zonkers?Name: image.jpg

You're gonna love the Buffalo!! just make sure to have a good comb to brush out the underfur. Trying to dye the dark stuff is a waste of time it really doesn't come out. If you have bunch's of rabbit you can dye it but I still haven't found a way to keep the hide soft and flexible to cut zonkers.

You hit the jack pot! Hey they sell bleached Elk hair and it looks nice for a light color hair! You should have a load of fun, but be carful cutting the zonkers. I have seen home made too.s for that, but not sure I would try them.

Hey you may want to think about learning how to Rope Dub, just a thought!

The hides are going to need to be real soft in order to cut zonker strips, I've seen the cutter that the guy made on YouTube and that to me is an ER visit waiting to happen. On his part 1 dyeing the skin, I really want to know how he dyed the skins and kept them soft and pliable, he doesn't explain that part of it.

That is a heck of a gift from your buddy. Be sure to add him to your Christmas card list. LOL I love working with Fox hair.
