    Default Mississinewa Lake

I will be fishing Mississinewa Lake for the first time in early May for crappie and was wondering if anyone has any tips or pointers for me? Things to look for, places to focus on etc?

    Thanks in advance.

Really too early to say. Water levels, clarity, and water temps vary greatly that time of the year.

Conditions can change quickly on that reservoir in a matter of days during the springtime. Keep an eye on the posts as you get closer to the time and PM some of the guys that fish there regularly. I'm sure they will help you out a little

get a map and spot jump till you score what you want. use the dam flow chart to judge the bite. look at google earth(winter pool) and mark what you want to jig after water rises. its a reservoir not a lake fish it accordingly.

Make sure you have a topo map of the lake and depth alarm. You can go from 20 fow to 6" in 15 ft in the main part of the lake when it is filling up (near Red Bridge). Be careful.
