    Default Unusual Sightings.

With all this rain and cool weather we been having, several people I know,,complaining about loosing all their perssimons off their trees in the last couple of weeks. They are falling off completely,,and green. Hickory nuts are not very big,,and inside,,super small nut about the size smaller than a dime. Pignuts are brown and falling off too. Walnuts in the past week are falling off the trees by the bucket loads and shouldn't be. This morning,,I saw about 150 buzzards flocking in and around 3 trees together,,then later this afternoon,,gone. Another guy where my wife works,,told her 15 miles from me,,he was complaining that he saw at least 300 buzzards this morning together,,then gone. They shouldn't flock up and go south for at least 5-6 weeks. I put my trail cams out 3-4 weeks ago and one is over a salt lick about 50 yds from my house,,checked it on Aug, 2nd,,and only had 3 picks of deer on it the whole time. Checked it on the 9th,,and between 2nd and 9th,,10 diff bucks hammering it,,4 running together of which one is a giant 12, 2- very nice 10's and large 8 all running together,,that is early for them to be running together, but I have them on there every day now hammering the salt and minerals. Deer are going nuts right now too and its way too early for that to be happening also. What else is going on in your area?

Martins left early. Mocking birds just left too and fewer Hummers as well. Grapes are very small this year. Have not hunted ginseng yet but noted earlier in summer it was small and lot of it wilted. Wild black berries did not develop.

Fishing not so good. But then, that could just be me. The gills never seemed to bed as usual.

Friend mentioned that he has not noticed any thremolclines in lakes this year. I guess I haven't either but it seems fish seem to be holding mostly 8 to 12 feet. Very few deeper so I may not be seeing the clines on my electronics. BTW, going to Turtle Creek today bassin. It has been bad for years for bass and crappie but has been producing some short bass. Don't expect much with this front on top of us today. But we fished a front last week and put over 70 bass in the boat. (Not Turtle Creek.) Going to chart and explore the old holes today while the wind is low in anticipation of better days for this lake.

I've noticed odd occurances also. I attribute it to a luner phase shift, global warming and the polar ice caps melting. What can we do but keep drowning worms and burning powder. Hope the fall conditions are better than what the summer has been.

The Squatch's have been on the prowl in my neck of the woods. Sometimes the hide my boat straps so I can't find them, I had another time when one ripped my boat tarp right on top of my fish finder bracket. Earlier this summer they broke my favorite fishing rod. I've just about had it.

Not fishing, but I don't think I've ever seen a baby rabbits this late in August. The dog was nice enough to show me some fresh ones today. No one was hurt in this episode.
