We are still catching them pulling cranks near or over main channel and fishing a few feet above the thermocline early morning bit been best for us
So I've become a better crappier fisherman this year and was pretty successful until yesterday morning. Only caught like 5 crappie and the biggest was 9 1/2. Started long lining this year and so far liked it much better than when I tried spider rigging last year. Started the season out long lining and when they were spawning I casted and now I am back to long lining. Did ok last Saturday but yesterday I started wondering if I was doing something wrong or if they were just not biting.

One thing I've learned over the years, If you know fish are there and they are not biting.
Change speed slower or faster I've seen .6MPH worked great only to follo next day at 1.6 to catch fish
Change depth sometimes a foot closer to where they are marked and sometimes a foot farther away makes all the difference.
Change color usually my first change. I do a lot of jig fishing and by the end of hour 1 wll have a dozen or so different colors on the dryin rack.
Change bait sometimes a different action sets them on fire

still getting them on jigs in the wood. the action has slowed a bit with the weather here though. poked maybe 40some with the biggest being just under 16. 2 guys in the boat.
Still catching them from the bank over at Missy. Fishing late evening when they start chasing bait into the rocks. Casting and retrieving different colors of twister tails.
Buddy Lee Dilley and I caught about 125 today out at Cataract despite all the pleasure boat traffic. Very few fishermen out on the lake, at least by the time we finally got out there. Water lightly stained and normal pool, 82-83 degrees. All on jigs on the cast.

Catching steady fish on standing timber 8' to 15' of water. Water temps in the low to mid 80's. If trolling isn't working and your marking fish, try something else.
