good report city has let it fall apart since they got rid of the gate keeper what a shame
took my son fishing, first one on the lake. the loading docks were not out yet so that made it a bigger hassle loading and unloading, don't know when they put them out but I assumed they would be, both gates were broken, trash cans over flowing and of course still no bait shop! Other than those complaints, the fish were biting water temp 56 to 58 degrees We caught them shallow mostly Id say 4 to 9ftw most of the bigger fish were holding tight to cover. One of those couple off this tree couple off that tree kind of day. I did catch several just trolling also. 2" jigs tipped with minnows. Overall I was happy that my son and I brought home 45 and fried them up that night. fished till 4pm most being in the 9" range average no big ums Probably threw back 20 or so, no color really did better to my memory my son thought the two dozen rosie reds I bought from westside worked better for him but I did fine on both. Hope this helps someone good luck

Good report, congrats on catch
Thanks for the info and a big congrats for you and you boy
Fished there this morning upper end still muddy main lake was good.Kept 12 good ones to eat.The docks aern't out because they can't find the anchor out in the water and need to send down a diver.
Some people climb everest, others go fishin' with me
What a Shame-- sounds like EC needs to get it together over there.
Way to go on the fishing though! I had hoped to take the kayak there Saturday for the tourney, but couldn't make it due to illness.
Years ago, the bait shop was closed for a year,,,had to go all the way to West Side, Clermont, (gone now) or Fall Creek Bait & Tackle(now gone too) for minnows. Shame the city cut their parks budget back and let Eagle Creek go by the wayside again. Great mushroom hunting in the park as well as edges of golf course..just don't get caught!!!
I thought about fishing at eagle creek, but never tried it. Where is the boat ramp located?
Across from Eagle Creek Airport on DandyTrai. North of 38th Street,,north of Rick's Boat Yard (awesome food) on the Eastside of the lake. Google a map if you need. I have no idea any more how much it costs to launch.
Fished Eagle Creek Wednesday. Water temp. 58-60 stained but green on the lower end. Brought home 11 10-12 inchers. Black/chart tubes seemed to be what they wanted. Never got a bite on a minnow. Hope this helps somebody!
