100 miles south of Chicago. My local private water have thinning ice as of last Saturday. Ramps still iced shut.

Went fishing at Banner Marsh Wednesday and again today, totally ice free. Caught some billy bass Wed. and a 12" crappie. Today, one 19" LMB. Very windy. Water temps from 41 to 45 as a high. Next week should be very good if we can maintain the water temps.

That's good news. Maybe by the weekend my water will be open. Got a new rod I'm dying to try out.
