Has Horseshoe Lake crappie fishing been damaged/ruined by the continuous flooding caused by the levee break a few winters ago ? I'm hoping to fish it this Spring since it's just 25 minutes away but will move up to Cedar if Horseshoe isn't recommended .
I grew up in the area, and we kind of gave up on Horseshoe lake for fishing. We do still kayak the lake occasionally since it is very picturesque but it is very rare to see another boat on the water, I think most of the other fishermen gave up on it too. Lots of carp and rough fish there.
I would recommend Cedar lake 1000 times over Horseshoe.
