    Cool

    Tournament was awesome.
Weather was perfect. Not a cloud in teh sky Saturday, Sunday had some intermittent clouds. Temps were perfect all weekend, and just enough breeze to make your bobber bounce ever so slightly.

3rd place- Team Whitecotton & Whitecotton, 14 Crappie weighing 7.42 pounds.
2nd place- Team Clifton & Nichols, 14 Crappie weighing 7.94 pounds.
1st place- Team Hanauer & Williamson, 14 Crappie weighing 9.08 pounds.

Big fish of 1.02 pounds went to Team Hanauer & Williamson.

Overall season winner is the Team of Whitecotton & Whitecotton- $50 gift card to Wal-Mart,
Handed out 4 $10 gift cards to Scheels,
and a bunch of fishing tackle and custom beverage Koozies to all teams.

Had a great fish fry out at IP Point. Got to socialize, meet some new friend and talk to some old ones, talk fishing, what worked, what didn't work, where the fish were biting, where they weren't, what bait/rigs worked and what didn't. Ate some awesome food and had a few adult beverages.

During the club meetings the winning team talks about how they won, what tackle they used, where they fished and why. This way we all learn more.

Special thanks to all the sponsors and members who helped make this year great. Looking forward to next year.
Be sure to attend the October meeting, see other thread in Illinois forum.
Please contact me for suggestions to improve the tournaments and the club.

    Thanks again everybody.

Wish I could join you, unfortunately I have a patio and sidewalk to finish this weekend. Plus brew up 5 gallons of beer for next weekends party.

As for the fishing, slow, but steady. We found the bigger Crappie loved bigger minnows. We fished in 10-11fow with fish about 6' down hovering near submerged timber.

Hanr3, I am a home brewer also. I didn't think it is possible to have a batch of beer ready in just a week or even 10 days! I started 5 gallons on Oct. 1 will be pushing it to have some carbonated by the 20th, but I haven't moved up to kegging yet, I guess that could speed things up a bit. Good luck and good fishing!

Thanks for the response I'll give your depths a try. I think I'll start there and work deeper on some of the channels leading to deeper water with it getting colder out.

Force carbonation is a wonderful thing.

As for the fishing, start in the coves.
