I'm really fighting over the vex and a humminbird helix 7. Iv got a lake master card for my helix 9 in the boat. The thought of gps and lake conture maps on the ice along with way point from open water sounds very appealing

Not sure about that model but my Lowrance ice 5 works perfectly well in the cold.

go with the vex 28 u won't be disappointed. they also have 1st class customer service and that goes a long way in my book!

That's a nice unit. I have the lowrance model elite five ice machine and had a blast yesterday with it.
