    Default 3 hog morning

Had a perfect SW wind for this stand. Heard a large group of hogs 100 yards west of me fussing and fighting. At first light one comes by at 12 yards..head shot..I'm good at this point but then 3 more walk in..2 run off one small black offers a 25 yards broadside shot... I very happy now...about 4 minutes later a couple more come in??? Can't help myself as one offers a head shot at 15 yards.. I had to stop there since I am alone here today. Could have got one more but 3 are plenty of meat for us right now. The 350 Legend I put together in my shop worked nicely, I was thinking about taking my trusty 243 this morning. Nice eats. That 350 got the job done nicely. I see one in my future for sure

Nicely done sir. Feels great to put together your set-up and have it perform so reliably, eh?

I have put 4 Black rifles together so far..No problems other than a little polishing and adjusting of magazine lips needed.. got a 450 Bushmaster about 6 years ago. I found it to be really good on hogs..big 45 cal entry hole! Settled on Flex tip Hornady 250 grain factory ammo.. I did try Buffalo Bore ammo on 2 hogs, no problems but I never shot anything over 60 yards.. The 450 does not kick hard but the barrel is Heavy, making the AR kinda heavy..... I next got a 6.5 Grendel, no problems..kills hogs dead, light weight, very little felt recoil...but when the 350 Legend came out I wanted to see how it would work. Bullet selection seems critical for 350 Legend.. Right or wrong I watched a few youtube videos of a guy who tested several 350 factory loads at 100 yards and further. Some bullets were accurate but did not expand very well at 350 velocity. The 350 Legend ammo I currently use is 160 grain Bear Creek Ballistic copper ammo. It seems to open up and do good damage to lungs..But I have not shot any thing past 30 yards..All my stands are Bow stands and set up for shots less than 20 yards.

Love the 350 legend. I built one for my son to deer hunt with when he was 4. Killed his first deer with it when he was 5 at about 120 yards. Ive shot several hogs with it one was 150 yards and dropped them all. I shoot the 180gr Winchester power points they group good for me out of my gun.

Size: 46.8 KB this spot has not been hunted in over a year. It was too hard to get to due to too much water.. water level is low now.. I was able to mow my trail and some in front of stand back in early November. I am hoping to sit here soon..expecting rain this weekend.. maybe I can sit Thursday or Friday afternoon?
