Your in a losing argument. I agree with what you say but sadly it's a boys club. Too many hypocrites, it depends on who makes the argument. Nothing wrong with moderation and all, but be fair. It's all about who you know not who you are in this place. Look at the southern boards last few year's, can hear crickets chirp. One gets attacked for an opinion while others just go on like usual business and get cheered on. Hard to keep up with the all over the place mentality with most. Yeah if you need to bait any animal to make a kill your not a very good hunter or outdoorsman in general.

ok then , bare hooks for you guys when you go fishin too,,,,,no worries ....
there is a difference in sitting under a white oak thats dropping and sitting near a feeder location ....?
to think I haven't hunted in about every situation out there is something that might be added to said comments
my ladder stand sat over white oaks in Arkansas , my little butt cushion sat on deer trails leading to green fields in west Texas ,,,,,heck....
went as far as hunting on the beach out a boat before over the kelp on the shore when there was no food left on the island for the deer ...
simply put there is a thing called sour grapes , we could sit randomly on deer trails and or walk/still hunt and take deer ,but why would you want to go and make it hard work ....?
dragging them from way off in the woods and walks that might be all day are not that much fun for sure .....
trust me on this part , if it requires me to work like a dog on it at my age , prolly ain't happening .....
sides all that ,a nice calm deer broadside is a way better harvest than one from an odd angle and shot thru some of the best eating on said game animal ....
nothing quite like a whoops , hit it bad , gunna be messy to clean this one .....
no worries here , you all hunt and fish how ya want , me is on a different trail for sure .......

so you use bare hooks ? just wondering .....becaue a really good fisher person should not need bait right ?
besides all that I dont NEED to bait them.... I choose to bait them , there is a huge difference between need and want my friend ,,,,just saying

I sure enjoy the pictures everyone posts here. I learn a lot too. About fishing, hunting, and human nature. Mother Nature brings enjoyment to all of us in various ways, eh?

Nope, no bare hooks while fishing. Bait in a responsible manner - not throw a cast net out, or fish with twelve rods out with double hooks and say "look what I caught"! Everyone says - good job!

Using bait responsibility is a virtue of a true sportsman. I can't imagine feeding the wildlife here in the country everyday, watching them on a camera, then one day go out and blow their head off.

No cartoon emojies in this post, nor a tacky Texas slang.

There exists probably a very tiny handful of people that don't put out food sources for deer in Texas , out in the area we have, about pretty much EVERY house has a deer feeder in the back within gun range , then there all the folks that plant "bait" for them as well .
To sit somewhere and type up something saying , basically I am not good at hunting because I bait the deer and or it's an unfair advantage is just internet sour grapes bla bla bla for sure and or a closet PETA thing.
Our deer roam far and wide and to be very sure it isn't like we are out there raising deer to "slaughter" anyway , if you follow my posts you might notice we follow a VERY strict one deer a year off our place rule ,and last year we didn't even harvest one btw ,and in the end it is really about this ......
MY kids and grandkids and wife get very little enjoyment out of just looking at trees. We family hunt our place most of the time and the kids really love to sit with us and watch the animals ,
By all means carry on though , I find it really interesting to see how folks really think and or like to engage in banter about what is not fair in the pursuit of fish and game , very much in line with those that use LS / FFS and call it fair to chase a large fish down as it tries to get away from them ,until it makes the mistake of biting a bait put in front of it that might even be a live minnow ....what is "fair" chase these days is a really grey area my friends , just saying
p.s. my widest rack buck at 22 inches wide on my walls came off a deer trail by a creek at 27 feet away , no feeder required
