Well it's time for a new scope, not happy with the Nikon Buckmaster Bdc 3-9x40 that came with my Savage.308 model 11 it's got to go.
I am stuck between these 2
1. Vortex Crossfire 11 3-12x56 Hoghunter w/v Brite rectile
2.Leupold VX-3i 3.5-10x40
Looking for a better Dawn/Dusk lowlight scope with standard crosshairs no BDC dots and lines. My eyes are not nearly as good anymore.
If I went with the Vortex the mounting rings would have to be 30mm and was told Extra High to get the clearance for the 56mm.

Leopold xv=3. is what I have on the two guns I use the most . It is not cool to have 4-5 rifles with high end scopes that see very little action . Hard to part with though .
my older Nikon buckmaster is nice ….I don't know about the newer versions
my camera and binos are Nikon as well ….
Nikon is pretty good stuff for the money
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
I wouldn't do the 56mm because of the extra high rings, hard to get a good cheek weld. I do like all of my vortex products though.
The bigger the objective the more light. So out of those two the Vortex will be brighter. A lot of people think vortex is a cheap scope. They make cheap scopes but they also make high end scopes as well.
