Congratulations! There's nothing more exciting or fulfilling than harvesting an animal with instinctive archery equipment. I miss shooting my recurves and longbows, but a shoulder injury prevents me from drawing them.
Cant get anywhere with boat as I live in Parke county, Indiana and the covered bridge festival is going on so its a exercise and futility trying to get to and from lake.. so took recurve and went hunting tonight, killed a young doe at 12 yds.. hit her high 1st shot and shot her again even though 1st shot hit spine and made it into top of lungs.
Bow was a Groves Spitfire Mag I 56 in. 53@28 and 1916 arrow w/150 gr Stinger 4 bld.

Great hunting and this is the correct place. Thanks for the post."D"
Congrats! I have plans to shoot one with a recurve soon, probably will not be this year now though.

I have an old AMF wing recurve that’s been the only bow I ever used in 45 years , it a 50 lb and I over draw it to about 63 because I am long armed . Nice read brother and nice harvest . Most don’t realize how close you need to be with a recurve to make a kill . Very nice job sir
