    Default moon and movement

With a full moon on Nov 2., generally the deer will move more from about 10:00am to 3:00Pm. At least that's been my impression over the last 45 years. I have also noticed that right before the main rut kicks in, this 4th quarter phase leading up to full moon, will completely nix that mid-day type movement.

As long as there are does coming in, bucks will move as they normally would just before the main rut, with less affectfrom any moon phase. They will troll looking for the hot does.

Any other nuiances that any of you guys have noticed relative to full moon pre-rutting activities, and movemet?? Do you, n general, agree with my analysis of movement? If not, why.

    Default

Have had 4 deer living in me back yard all summer and fall this year. 3 days of cold weather at the new moon and the does were baying. The buck ran off and was hit by a car 2 miles down the road along with 3 other bucks the same night.n No does were hit that night or since.

Full moon, but when did it rise and set? I agree on a moon light night the deer do move more during mid day. New moon they move earlier in the evening. For Virginia, last week of Oct and first week of Nov. is always prime no matter what the moon is.
