    That's how you do it! spending time with your grandson made you the winner from getgo. I don't have a problem with LS in general use but in tournaments I don't think they should be allowed. Congrats on the finish and the fun.

    Buddy of mine and the guru on my home lake won a tournament while fishing from shore and docks and beat 30 teams who were all on boats many with fancy electronics. They banned them from any more of their tourneys.

    Teaching your Grandson how to fish before He fishes FFS is a job well done. It is so much easier to teach someone how to catch Crappie if their attention in on the rod & presentation. Put them in a boat with FFS after learning then they are dangerous to eating size Crappie population.
