You could title it “Things not to say when you take the preacher fishing.”

Good to see you back on the water and posting videos. I enjoy your videos. I tried some longlining here in Texas yesterday and had a pretty good day. We caught 39 and kept 11 nice ones for a meal. You can definitely get yourself in a mess if not careful, but I think I am going to like it once I get a little more practice with the method. I was only using 6 poles, just a beginner, lol.

Good to hear from you. Thank you for the feedback as I have been wondering how your longlining experiment was going. I encourage you to stay with it. The two rods I lost/broke were recently added. Up until a couple of months ago I used 8 rods but added the two additional rods to give me 10. The benefit of the 2 extra rods seemed to out-weigh the negative aspects. I do what you are doing. Experiment! Use the number you are comfortable with and in time you will settle on a set-up that works for you. Now, after this last trip some might say that maybe I should go back to what I was doing. However, 10 rod vs. 8 rods was not the problem. The dock issue was caused by trying to steer the boat with a trolling motor that was turned off by accident. I didn't realize what was going on until it was too late. My bad. Last year in one day of fishing we caught lines in the TM three different times and ran aground once. Notwithstanding those mishaps, we caught a lot of fish that day. Keep me posted on your results. Good fishing.

I was worried about you two. Glad you're back in the boat again. We have all broke or lost rods/reels at one time or another. Just a casualty of our favorite past-time "Fishing". Keep the trolling videos coming.

Great report enjoyed the video. I fished Sugar Creek caught 2 throw backs. Water was muddy and the wind was high.
