I've been tossing that idea around in my head also. The water temp is in the 70s, gonna give it a try when I get back from the Toledo Bend gathering.

We wound up with 22 and brought 10 home. Only 1 on a crankbait the rest on jigs. We only had 1 crank out.Name: IMG_6039.jpg

I think you are going to find cranks don’t work as well on blacks as it does on whites. The whites school more in open water where cranks really shine. Plus blacks feed More on smaller stuff than whites which feed more on shad.

Isn't that something. Never in my 50 years of fishing have I found a tobacco tin in a crappie!

I was fishing for crappie at my favorite hole on Allatoona last night with minnows. Not one bite after two hours, I was about to call it quits and didn't want to go home empty handed, so I pulled out my lipless crankbait and BAM first cast ...

Allatoona has a summer crankbait bite
Fishing is like pizza.......Even when it's not that good, it's still pretty good!
