    Default Blackshear Anglers Beware!!

This past Sunday while sitting under Smoak Bridge fishing with my 11 yr old son, had a jet ski blow right thru the No Wake buoy. He finally slowed down when he was under the bridge next to us and me yelling. He was a young boy appeared to be about the same age as my son. There was another guy a piece behind him. Later the other guy came back and asked if I had a problem with his friend?!?!? So..........I certainly obliged and gave him the "why for". He wanted to get mouthy stating "the boy was just learning." Doesn't sound sound like he needs to be turned loose on a vessel by himself if he doesn't know the laws of the water!!!! It got a lil ugly under that bridge until I stood up out of my chair and he could clearly see what was on my side then I told him the vessel ID number had been reported and Mr Green Jeans was on his way!! Y'all be safe and keep your eyes open.

This is the main reason I haven't fished Blackshear since 2009. Got into it with bunch of SA kids at veterans park. The only reason it didn't get REAL nasty I was just before leaving to go to Iraq and didn't need any delays. If not for that, sure there would have been a court date for either them or me!

Wide open throttle throwing a wake that big and that close to my boat with my child on board............I'm taking that as a threat to my child's life!!!!

It's not just Blackshear. Also not just jet skis. Watercraft of all shapes and sizes are offenders on all bodies of water. Every time I'm fishing some jerk wad in a boat zooms by as fast an close they can. No common courtesy on the water.

You're exactly right. Its not just youngins on jet skis. Its jackwagons in all kinds of vessels. One dude in a pontoon I know crossed under the bridge 3-4 dozen times, glad I dont buy his boat gas.

The DNR is always monitoring us fishermen. Where are they when things like this are happening? Safety should be a priority also.

Common courtesy has invaded the water like it has on the highway. Atlanta drivers have invaded the waterways.
