Default Night Trips at Lake oconee

We have been fishing the past several months at night time. Anywhere you can find timber near the creek channel, you will find fish. Last week was our best (quality fish), of this year. We caught over 150, several fish over 15 inches. Every trip this year has yielded over 100 fish each. This year we have caught our largest fish compared to the past several years. God fishing.

Awesome fish my son and I went memorial weekend and only got six. Put in at long shoals and went down river but we were fishing blind because I had killed my lowrance earlier that day. He got us a garmin to replace it can't wait to get it on the water.

Really nice DFG. I have been to Georgia only once, and that was to umpire a softball tourney in Marietta, many years ago. The Georgia hosts were super nice guys, and we TALKED fishing, but had no time to go out. I got in trouble here in OKC, because I wrote a letter to the National office saying Marietta had put on the best tournament I'd ever been part of. I was told that I was to brag up OKC ONLY. I told them that just as when I umpire a game, I call 'em as I see 'em. (And I see some really nice fish in this post).

Me and a friend went Memorial Day weekend also. I normally go on holiday weekends, but I'm sure glad we did. We left late and got set up @ 10:30 pm and fished until 5:00 am. We caught our limit twice and only kept what we should. I have seen a lot of fish in timber the past couple of years. Find timber and be patient. We have been using minnows fishing @ 10-15 foot deep.

Thanks, we have some really great fisheries here. In my opinion, Lake Oconee is one of the states/SE best.
Keep calling 'em like you see 'em. Good fishing to you.

I didn't go this weekend, due to the full moon. I took a couple of trips in our Jon boat fishing some local ponds. (bream, bass, crappie, shell crackers) Looking at the weather, I am gonna try and plan a couple of trips for later this week. Last full moon me and my wife, me and another friend went two different trips and fished 5 bags of minnows each trip on the 5 the night after the full moon. I have never had much luck catching Crappie on the full moon. I have installed new lights on my boat and can't wait to light up the water. Good fishing to everyone.
