Default Jig color in stained water

I fish a small oxbow lake (Morgan Lake) off of the Altamaha River and do pretty good with live bait but finding a consistant jig color has been a pain and I am striking out alot. The water is stained (brown) with a slow current most of the year, plenty of cover and even a train trussell. I have tried all manner of black/green combos a few yellows, and a few browns but nothing works even close to live bait.

I was hoping I could pick your collective brains for some better ideas.

Try orange colors...I have been having good luck using orange in muddy water. Try orange crush, horsefly, brown with orange tail, and bluegrass with a pink

head has been really hot so far.

Hey Birddog, good to see you are still hanging in here..I agree with Dutch on the Orange and brown colors. They usually work for me in stained to heavily stained waters....I remember once that a red jig with a chartreuse tail working.....Hope to run up with you again soon!!
