    Default Crappie Fishing Partner

With the cooler temps and rain coming I'll definitely be boating on Lanier for crappie this weekend. If anyone is interested I can meet up. I dont bring any experience but I can bring minnows, gas and jigs. Thumbs Up

Feel free to PM me and we can exchange information. It will be nice enjoying the Lake without having to run inside by 9:00am.

Ok 216 views and 1 reply.

So how does one go about getting into the inner circle of productive crappie fisherman? Someone had a tag that read "A stranger is a friend you have never met." There are a lot of strangers on this board but you can never have enough friends.

Here is a snap shot of my boat, I have just recently added a trolling motor and a few rod holders on the bow. I work Monday through Friday in Roswell but I live in Norcross.

Ive been referred to lots of guides, I know you have to pay to play and trust me I do not mind supporting the local economy but is there anyone out there that just fishes and wouldnt mind fishing with the new guy? Between gas and all I am pretty sure we can save some money in this economy.

I promise not to intrude on anyone's honey hole and I will take only the limit from the lake and thats a Crappie Promise.

I think the problem may be that most on the Ga board fish south Ga. You need to ask on hammonds. its all about lake Lanier. If I had time I would take you but I am covered up with work right now.

Baitman, thats a cool handle. Thanks for your reply, I dont mind driving at all to go fishing to a new lake. I heard so many stories about Lanier that I actually fished West Point and Weiss so much so that I have never even been to Lake Lanier to get a line wet. After doing more research though I am seeing that I can stay right here in GA and get on some good fish or even drive to some of these surrounding lakes.

Actually depending on which way I go I am not that far from very many lakes. Oconee and Sinclair about an hour and a half to two hours. Weiss and West Point about the same. I'll fish them all if my wife lets me. Even still though I am getting some good tips and advice so I'll definitely run with it. Gotta learn one way or the other, just a faster process doing it with people that have the know how. Thumbs Up

Hey TByzzle. I could not open the boat picture. I fish Oconee, Sinclair and West Point. As far as THE INNER CIRCLE goes most folks have their main fishing partner and someone wanting to go all the time. The problem is not having enough time to go with anyone! Between crappie fishing, dove shooting, bowhunting, WORK and family I do not know whether to scratch my watch or wind my donkey!!! There are a lot of great folks on here that are just to busy.

Tbyzzle, if you are ever down near Lake Blackshear I would be glad to take you out fishing for some Blackshear slabs. You can bring your tackle or I have enough for you to fish with. SO all you have to bring is you. No charge just alot of fun.

Earl not sure what happened but here are two. I have since added a trolling motor and a couple of rod holders.

I completely understand about time especially with technology. I know my job can get me 24*7. Except when I forget my phone in the truck (wink wink). I have a few more under my profile pics. I'm sure the more I get out the more guys I will meet.

Ragfly that works, i will PM you and we can set something up, Id love to drive down and get on some fish.

I hope I dont sound pushy or needy on this board definitely not my intentions. Thanks again guys.

That's a nice looking rig TB. Dont let the post views get to ya either. There are lots and lots of lurkers just reading the boards to find out where youre catching fish, and those guys dont contribute anything other than sitting in your hole when you reach the lake. And there's nothing wrong with hiring a guide on Lanier if that is your home lake. You would learn more in one trip with a good qualified guide than you'll pick up in a season fishing by yourself. Next time there's a gathering of CDC guys nearby make sure you make it over. You'll get to meet alot of the guys, see their setups, and get to talk fishing with all of them. I live more in N Ga and we're having a crappiefest on Lake Hartwell soon and youre more than welcome to join in with us, as well as any of the other Ga guys on this board that's interested. If interested check out the SC board to get the details (in the makings now).
