    Default Okeechobee in March

I was wondering what the fishing would be like the last part of March on the big O ? Does anybody have any suggestions on where to stay down there ? I was thinking about making a trip down to visit my mom who is down there for the winter. I figure if I'm going to drive down why not pull the boat. Thanks for any help.

Just last week we spent a week fishing the north end. We rented a house in the Taylor creek area. There are plenty of campgrounds and cabins to rent in that area too. If you look at the area anything on the rim canal will give to access to the lake via one of the locks. Obtw it seems like everyone jigs there, but I believe longline trolling would work well in the shallow water.

It's usually pretty good still. The shell cracker (red ear) bite gets pretty good on the full moons closer to summer.
