I hope it is also and good luck, but most of all enjoy and come back, because lots of Florida folks counts on those tourist dollars.

Sliknquik, Nice catch, thanks for the post, FYI, I was there last year around this time at my buddies place which is about 1-2 miles north from the mouth of the river. We fished the River about 1/2 mile south of the bridge. about 75 -100 feet from the bank in 10-15 FOW. I too saw the carnival of lights each night, and am almost certain anchored along the side of the river at night caught their limit each night before 10pm. We two caught our limit in 2-3 hours after dark with a 11" boat size limit. Don't want to guess how many crappie are being caught each night there right now. It's a 16 hour trip there for, wishing I was there now doing some Perchjerking.

I was there yesterday 2/16, and found an unusually high number of boats fishing the Kissimmee river, especially in the area near and where it meets the lake.
Of coarse all were anchored and using lots of rods with floats which is a favorite method at Okeechobee.
I wanted to fish the lake in and around the reeds, so that's where i headed.
I saw almost no boats at all on the lake, and looking at the water i saw what was no doubt the reason, as it was very dirty.
I went quite a distance and found it the same, so i turned around and went back to the river.
I had been paying close attention on my way past the fleet in both directions, and saw only a couple fish being boated.
Till the water clears up id be fishing the river, or possibly Indian prairie canal.
And id also be stopping to pick up minnows.
