Default Garmin LVS 34 New LS Transducer

Garmin today released the new LiveScope LVS 34 and still uses the GLS 10 box. Going to be interesting to see how much better Livescope will be. Can purchase just the transducer because new system still uses same GLS 10 box. Looking forward to seeing the videos show difference. Already a few videos out on youtube.
Thanks Cane Pole thanked you for this post

    Yep,
I read about it today after I got the email from Garmin. Livescope Plus!!
1199.00 and use your existing GLS10
Suppose to have better target separation, less noise, etc.
It appears to have perspective mount built in.
Don’t know about you guys, but I’m happy with what I have.
With some software research I think that Garmin could have accomplished the same results.

That's pretty much what I expected them to do, once another brand came out with a Livescope clone that looked a little better on the screen.

I just wish they had a trade-in program. Hard to sell just the old transducer.

This is the reason I don't think this is going to be a big seller for Garmin. $1200 for just a transducer is crazy. Folks can't sell the old unit and upgrade because you need the black box. No need to buy old transducer if you don't have the black box to go with it. I wonder if screen clarity will be the same as going from the GT54 transducer to the GT56. The only folks who benefit from this is those who don't have Livescope at all and need a complete unit. I will take a wait and see approach but I can't imagine the new unit will be worth the $1200 too upgrade.

Garmin sells Lowrance their old technology and software. They have a proprietary patent on some of the necessary components for real time sonar.
Of course the fishing market is the smallest market Garmin is involved in.
Military software is their big money maker.
Or at least that’s what a little birdie told me. Garmin LVS 34 New LS Transducer

$1200 for just a transducer is crazy
The new LVS34 transducer comes with the perspective mount so it drops the actual transducer price to $1100 and the original LVS32 is $1000, so really only

a $100 increase for a newly designed transducer, but still a lot of coin.

Worth a $1200 or$1700 upgrade remains to be seen.
