Default Unit shuts down on its own...

I’ve got a Helix 10 MEGA that shuts down when running DI or sonar. I can turn sonar off and gps works and doesn’t seem to shut down on its own every few minutes. Thought or suggestions?

I would check your connections to the battery and everywhere in between.

Battery connections are good. GPS with maps runs all I want. Only shuts down when I turn on sonar

Isn't that usually a sign of a weak battery ??

I mean, I had that problem once before where the screen image would fade and eventually the unit would shut off. Now, to be fair, my Elite 5DSI unit was connected thru the trolling motor wiring to my series 27 battery (several years old) and worked fine until the trolling motor had been used hard for several hours of Pushing jigs. I replaced the battery with a series 29 battery & never had that happen again.

The battery is good. Without a doubt. I reset the factory defaults and it’s working fine. Beats me!

Go back and double check each connection especially at fuse. It’s getting enough power to run the gps but when the finder kicks in it doesn’t have enough amps to run the processor on these new units. If you have the tube type fuse I would replace it with a blade type. Those tube types are real bad about poor connection at their tips.
