I have 2 sliding ones and they have a place to lock it.They are a little hard to find. I just got one off Ebay.
Installing my new terrova and to put it where MK wants it , it’ll stick out kinda far imo. So I looked at the slide plate but I don’t see where it’s lockable. It says motor can be easily removed for storage. If it can’t be locked then a crook could easily remove it too. Am I missing something?

I drilled a second hole as I i could slide mine back and put the screw back in. Now it don't stick out so far.

Just installed mine today and it sticks out to far also, mine is mounted on just a quick release bracket. I wish I would have gotten the sliding btacket.
Dave at shut up and fish put a minn Kota on my boat in February while I was in Texas. It stuck out so far that I couldn’t put the cover on without taking the motor off. Not good. Using the sliding plate he slid the motorback far enough to clear the bow than drilled and tapped a new hole in the plate on the opposite side. Now when I come off the water I take the screw out of one side slide the motor back and put the screw in that side. Put the cover on and I’m ready to trailer the boat. Works great. Again Dave is great to deal with.
But is there a way to lock to keep it from being stolen?

There are two holes one for the threaded screw to hold your motor on then there another toward the end where you can put a lock on.

I drilled an extra hole too and use a rope hook through the hole to adjust it. I have a lock in the loop for the rope and when I need to secure it, I swap the hook and the lock. If I need to remove it, it will slide off the back to take it off the boat. I bought another one for my pontoon so I can remove it when we are just playing.
